I haven't had the chance to try it out in my copious free time but I
was thinking of something like:

Customize Report Data Definition to add a button and a textbox to
export the dataset in XML (RptDataDefDataSet.WriteXml(filePath);)

Now I cna generate the two versions of RDDs in XML format.

Use an XMLDiff utility to see the differences. Microsoft has a free
library: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa302295.aspx but
there are commercial versions available too.

It's an easy report to recreate in a BAQ, however..
