Can Reason codes exist at the Site specific level? Ex: We have currently 5 sites that all use the same reason codes that default to a specifc GL code account. We purchased a new company and want to set if up as a site but want to make sure that their reason code transaction go to their site financials. Alot of the actual reason choices are still the same as the ones that the other 5 sites are currently mapped too. We also have additional ones. How do we guarantee that the codes they select and want to use are directly mapped to thier G/L accounts
I don’t think Reason Codes are site specific. You could create additional codes that map to different GLs for them specifically… but you’d have to add some kind of designation in the CodeID or Description so they know which ones to use.

I don’t know if its possible to create a directive that would block a reason code submission based on their site. So, their site can only select certain codes or the reason submission would fail. Probably possible, but I don’t know if you’d have to set that up in each place you can submit a reason code (scrap, inventory adj. rework, etc.) that could be cumbersome if that were the case.
Shouldn’t your gl controls automatically flex on site anyway?

It all depends on how your COA is setup. We would need to know more details about your COA to properly answer. Are you using Standard or Extended? Are you using Department and/or Division?
