Receiving Inspection process

When material is received, it sits in the inspection queue.

If inspection accepts the material into stock, the RcvDtl table shows it as passed quantity.

If inspection rejects the material into DMR, the RcvDtl table shows it as a failed quantity.

However, if during the DMR process the material is passed into stock, the RcvDtl does not reflect it in the passed quantity.

According to the dictionary, the RcvDtl.PassedQty description is this:
"Total quantity that passed inspection to date. In receiving unit of measure. This is a summary maintained by the DMR process."

For the RcvDtl.FailedQty, the description is this:
"Total to date quantity that has failed inspection. This is a summary maintained by the DMR process."

Why does the DMR process not show that the materail has been passed even though inspection failed it first?

If the DMR process does not update this field, then how do people know exactly what was received into stock from a PO?

Thanks,
Jasper
