Reconciling WIP report to the G/L

Jeff:
Have you had any luck in finding out what is causing the differences
between the Work In Process report and the G/L? We are still having
the problem thru the end of Q/E 3/31/08. I thought that the various
adjs we made for 12/31/07 would have washed out by then, but it is
still not reconciling.

Thanks,

Being somewhat unfamilar with the system, I am throwing out the white flag. My G/L and the WIP report shows about $75,000 out of balance. My question is where in the system could I find any information to tie the two reports. My IT guy ran a report where the job is closed but the WIP hasn't been closed, but when I run the job tracker I can't find any outstanding costs to the job. Any help is greatly appreiciated.

Jeff,

Is there a specific account that is out of balance or all accounts? Is
it possible someone is create manual entries to your G/L that is
throwing the two off?

Subject: [Vantage] Reconciling WIP report to the G/L

Being somewhat unfamilar with the system, I am throwing out the white
flag. My G/L and the WIP report shows about $75,000 out of balance. My
question is where in the system could I find any information to tie the
two reports. My IT guy ran a report where the job is closed but the WIP
hasn't been closed, but when I run the job tracker I can't find any
outstanding costs to the job. Any help is greatly appreiciated.

Jeff:
We are also fighting this battle. The WIP transactions that hit the
G/L after the "capture" function has been run can be found on the
Inventory/WIP report. Make sure that your jobs are flowing thru WIP
and to Cost of Sales correctly when a job is closed. Just pick a job
and follow it thru the transactions and see what G/L accounts are
affected. This software is date driven so using a correct date is
very important.
