I made up a quick test on the labor applied to jobs question.

My fake employee clocked in 6 minutes earlier than shift start and clocked
on to a job immediately.

His start time was adjusted in the labor record for payroll, and the total
time charged to the job matched the time on his labor record ... the time
he
spent on the job while he was inside his grace period does not appear to
have gone to the job ...

So, I think I told you wrong previously ... sorry ...
