This may not be practical if you have large bills of material. I added a
vendor to the list called "NONE", and if I have a purchased part that I am
changing and do not want purchased, I add the approved vendor "NONE" to the
part, and then remove it when the part is released for purchase. It works
for us because we normally don't assign approved vendors to any parts - we
work off a "master approved vendor list".

Subject: [Vantage] releasing sub-assemblies
All,
Does anyone know of a way to release or put a sub-assembly on hold for part
purchasing purposes? We would like to have some flexibility with regards to
ordering the electrical parts on our BOM. The only easy way of doing it, as
far as I can, see would be to create a separate job for those parts we need
to hold off on ordering, and release this job whenever we are ready to place
PO's.
Side notes:
-we do not use the lead time function for purchased parts
-we order off a custom report, rather than generating purchasing suggestions
through Vantage
Thanks!!
Paul
