Replacing Default Search Screen

Brian,

Can you respond with your email?

I have a document to set up another default search but I can't respond with
attachments.

Thanks,

Is there a way to replace/edit the search screen that comes up when
you're searching say for a part. I can't keep my MSSQL fulltext
indexing working (it locks the database if I run it nightly and I have
to kill the SQL Agent job) and I'd like to stop offering the 'Part
Description Contains' search option for now and have folks do that via a
Quick Search.

Determine what tables are being hit in the standard search. (Expand beyond those tables gingerly as you may disable the apps ability to select multiple records.)

Write a BAQ that contains the data you want. Create a Dashboard with input fields that can then be used as an Advanced search.

Make the Advanced Search the default search for the app.
