I don't know if it's my report that you were talking about, but I have a
report in the downloads called "Vendor Shipping Report" that does this.

I've done similar by inserting pictures on different band lines that are essentially the same except for the picture item. Printing of the line is conditioned on some variable being true or false so that only one or the other band line ever gets used.

I suspect that they are using a Wingding Font and triggering the font.
(If I put smiley faces on any report, I'd be getting frowney faces from
my bosses. They hate that stuff on documents.
