Report Writer's parent product R&R Report Writer is alive and well and better
than ever. It is now owned by LiveWarePub and the latest version is 10+. It
can read data from dbf, various SQL, many others including Progress 91D
sources via ODBC. R&R comes with most of the lastest DataDirect ODBC drivers
included. It my understanding that DataDirect ODBC drivers are being used as
replacements for the Merant ODBC drivers in many other applications also.
The $600 cost does not seem prohibitive to me. You can check them out at :

I design & develop reports & exports for several Epicor clients in TX and I
have used R&R Report Writer to take data generated via the Export
Utility/Business Activity Query in Vantage to create many reports. This is
especially helpful for Vantage payroll data that can't be accessed via Report
Builder due to the Employee Link obstacle. I have just barely started
attempting to use the R&R ODBC for Progress 91D. When I get it working I'll
let you know.
