Report questions

Elizabeth/Ernie,

Regarding the error on printing, you could always create a customization
that turns on/off the print functionality. I don't think this is available
in 8, but in 9, use the wizard to generate actions based on tool-click, and
put the following line in your logic:

baseToolbarsManager.Tools("PrintTool").SharedProps.Enabled = false (or true
to turn it back on)

Subject: [Vantage] Report questions

I have two questions about reports, one of which I think I have a workaround
for but the other I'm stumped.

My production supervisor would like to have an error jump up when trying to
print a Job Traveler that's already been printed before. Although there is a
TravelerLastPrinted field in the JobHead table, it is updated at the time of
printing (before the form gets the variable), so I can't key on that. There
also doesn't seem to be a BO on printing the traveler, the trace says
Epicor.Mfg.Rpt.JobTrav. The BO it's associated with is Menu, and I can't
find a way to relate job info through that.

What I'm thinking about for this is at the JobEntry.GetRows BO, have the
JobHead.Date01 field populate with the TravelerLastPrinted data, and then
key on that instead. Any other ideas?

The other problem is sort of the reverse, I want to print the inspector's
name on the PartTag (using the Print Tag button from Inspection Processing),
and I've related the NonConf table to the MtlTags temp table in the RDD, but
no joy. It seems that the NonConf table doesn't update with data from the
Inspection Processing screen until AFTER you hit SAVE, but you can only
print tags BEFORE you hit save. I have no clues on this one and would
appreciate any directions you might have.

Thanks (and enjoy the snow!)

Hi everyone,
Is it possible to add an updatable text box to the InvcTracker.
I want a UD field which allows me to update if I need to make an adjustment to an invoice.

Any help would be appreciated.

By definition a tracker is a read only setup so within the context of the current transaction the answer is no. But if you add a new control and NOT bind it to any of the existing dataviews you can take that data and do anything you want with it. If you bind it to any of the existing views the control will usually get grayed out and you not be able to put anything into it. Also if you use an Epicor controls (i.e. EpiTextBox) I have seen even unbound controls get grayed out as part of the overall drive by the tracker to be a read only transaction. In those cases you can programmaticlly add either a Microsoft or infragistics control which Epicor tends to ignore. You would need to then add some sort of action/button to save the data to the database. The code to do the saving would be all on you too as the tracker isn't doing any saving as part of its function.
