I have done restores from Live to our Pilot and Test environments lots of times. I always go to Company Maintenance and change the report server information to the proper database (ie EpicorERPPilotReports). This last restore now is throwing all reports into scheduled tasks, then erroring out with Invalid object name ‘Company_’ and a GUID. If I look in the SQL Server reports database that table isn’t there.
I have recycled the IIS pools, stopped and restarted the Task Agent, done the restore again, regenerated the database but nothing has worked.
Does anyone know what is causing this?
Additional Note - I cycled the overall ICE task agent on the server and then cycled the task agent for the environment. It appears that the reports are not getting stuck in the scheduled tasks anymore but I am still getting the invalid object error.
Did you check out the Prod environment to see if maybe someone had archived a bunch of reports, and now they’re not available on the new report server.
I have looked in both Live and Pilot and I do not see any outstanding reports or tasks in the system monitor.
One thing that is odd is that now I can run some reports (Inventory/WIP Recon) but I can’t others (Time Report). The Time Report has the Invalid object name error.
I don’t recall the exact details, but we had an issue when we copied the Production DB to the Test environment, while Generate PO Suggestions was running. That prevented us from running Generate PO Sugg in the test environment.
I came to just accept (right or wrong), that the DB we restored to Test had some data in it that said the PO Suggestions process had started. But since it wasn’t actually running, nothing was ever going to clear that flag.
Maybe your best bet is to do the copy from Prod to test again. Making sure no tasks are active when the backup of PROD is made.
