Rework question

In the past I have created one job to rework parts from the shelf. I put
the final cost to inventory as a whole rather than try to make Big V
calculate evrything out. I then adjusted the individual item costs as I saw
fit. Worked okay for us.

Subject: [Vantage] Rework question

My superior just came into my office to ask a question that I didn't have
a
good answer to so I'll ask everyone for input:

He wants to write up a job to replate some of our off the shelf/finished
goods with a different finish. Any ideas how we could do this and get
costs
where they need to go. He mentioned that the job would remain open all
year
and we'd pick a single part number from each product group to use to
transfer the costs to the correct cost account but the average cost for
that
part would be inaccurate.

This doesn't sound like a good idea to me. What do you think?

Thanks,
