RMA Assemblies

Bruce,

Are you referring to customer RMA’s or vendor RMA’s or both? I would also
like to know how other companies handle the flipside of your scenario, i.e.
the return from a customer or to a vendor of a component from a sold or
purchased assembly (e.g., the lamp from a video projector), particularly
when the component is serialized.

I know of no good way to do that. I think I would have to scrap the
assembly and then quantity adjust the salvageable components.

I was wondering how other organizations handle assembly returns where
components are salvageable. Do most simply quantity adjust the
components back to stock? I am especially interested in comments from
those using the quality module.
