Running V8 in WAN environment

Running any version of Vantage over a WAN is miserably slow. You have to use Terminal Server or something similar to get acceptable performance over a WAN or Internet connection. I have two sites connected with dedicated bonded T1's and Vantage is not useable over this connection (well you could use it but I would never expect anyone to be productive or satisfied with it. Terminal Services works great, no issues, maybe faster than normal local clients.

Subject: [Vantage] Running V8 in WAN environment

Hello,

I'd like to hear from anyone that is running V8.00.x in a WAN environment.

I'm interested in knowing how the "speed" of V8 is for your users, and what type of WAN connections you have.
Our V8.00.809c server is at a datacenter on an HP DL360 3.6g dual xeon processor. Our sites connect with 3mb DSL lines. Users constantly complain about how "slow" V8 is.
