Does anyone know the cadence about how often SaaS has to upgrade and what type of upgrade it is? Major, minor, release, patch?

When I was SaaS, major/minor/release every six months, monthly patches (usually the third weekend).

‘+ or -’ if they have unexpected issues that delays the cadence (which is what happened with 2024.1).
I think we were supposed to initially get 2024.1.8 on July 19th, but due to CrowdStrike we ended up with 2024.1.10 on August 23rd.
Or like 2023.2.5 which was scheduled for 11/3 was pushed until 12/10/2023

Yes, this is true for on-prem as well. Version is the old Major (9, 10, 11) and Minor (.1, .2, .3), and release is the .100, .200., .300, … Updates are patches that match the sprint cycle, but SaaS only installs the one that’s available the third weekend of the month.
