Sales kit stopped showing components

Hi Sue,

Yes, when I have upgraded - 1st to base & then apply the patch level.
The 8.03.409C patch is one of the last steps & only takes a few minutes.

>The instructions for 8.03.409C
These are generic so not all parts apply. That's why I always upgrade on a test server first. Make notes, get all the required downloads, find things that break, etc...

8.03.408B Progress

Last wednesday everything was fine... Today if I print a pick list or a sales order I don't get the components listed. Where do I start to look?
Main part is a sales kit...

Thanks,

James
Called Epicor support and they said it is a known issue and the fix is to upgrade to 409C????
So, if I do that-what does it break???

Made the move from 408b to 905c last Wednesday. The biggest issue right now is that something in the manifest is locking up app servers.

8.03.409C is fairly simple & I would estimate about 4 hours,
I always test on a backup server to get the steps are worked out first.

I've only seen minor issues, mostly custom data definitions to be rebuilt.

I have a test server and went from 8.03.408B Progress right to 8.03.409C Progress?? Is there some rason to go thru all of the other stuff??

I did find the problem with the part not showing sub components.... someone went in and unapproved the part. once I reapproved it and deleted/readded the part back on the sales order it showed the kit parts....

I guess I never tried it that way! The instructions for 8.03.409C say you must upgrade to 8.03.409 first. I've also talked to tech support and they've always told me to update to the target version (the number) first and then update to the target patch (the letter). Maybe Epicor is being extra cautious or maybe depending on what they upgraded it sometimes really doesn't matter. Maybe I should think about trying a shortcut now and then...it would save some time!
