Sales Kit

I’ve been searching high and low for an answer to my dilemma with no luck.
The idea of using Sales Kits sounds promising for my company. It would be nice to be able to group together few parts and show it as 1 line.
I have few parts for which I’ve entered a Sales Kit part, but when I use it in an order it does not let me create jobs for the Manufactured components of my Kit.
The “Order Job Wizard” is grayed out and unavailable on this order.

Also, the “Make Direct” checkbox is grayed out and unchecked on the order release.
I can ship all of these lines and invoice, but can’t create jobs.
Any ideas???

I’m not where I can check, but there is another tab for “sales kits” in Order Entry - perhaps the job-related stuff is on that tab?

I’ve been testing it in Kinetic cloud and there are many places for those components to show, but I was unable to find any place on an order to let me create jobs for those parts.

You can’t do make direct with sales kit components. Would be nice but . . .just not possible out of the box.

MRP should pick up the demand. We use kit parts but do not use order job wizard.

Edit: Assuming you don’t have stock of the components to meet the order need.

all of our parts are Manufactured, none is stocked.
how do you create jobs for this kind of parts in sales kit?

If you run MRP, that should create job for these part.

You could try to see if it works though.

@MIR, could this be what’s happening? Do you have this as make to order?

As @aosemwengie1 said above, you can’t do make direct for component parts. If you want to go kits you may have to consider MRP.

where do I start with that?

Hi Monika,

I thought that jobs needed for make direct that don’t have MRP run on them show up in the planning workbench. Have you taken a look there?

Apparently, if a manufactured non-stock part is a part of a sales kit, it does not get checked as make direct, so they don’t appear in Planning Workbench or utilize Order Job Wizard.

In help there is the “Getting Started with Material Requirements Planning” to get you started. There are more documents linked from that on it.

Thank you, Randy. I’ll look into MRP, but somehow it feels that things aren’t connected.
I got so excited with those Sales Kits. It follows through into the financial part of the system, but disconnects in production.

Personally, I have given up voting for Epicor ideas, but, you can always vote for this if you like. You are far from the only one who wants it to work that way.

Alisa, thank you so much for your response. It’s good to know that I’m not the only ONE.
