Is there away to clear a field while the Sales order is closed by using a BPM the field that i want to use it the credit card number field. We do not have the credit Card module in epicor Just wondering if there was a way to due that.
We have a machine shop setup in Dubai and are new to Vantage
(converting from an existing ERP). I had one simple question about the
Sales Order that I'm hoping someone can clarify. I would have thought
that the sales order is always firm when entered into the system. What
scenarios would require us to use the firm/non-firm feature for the
sales order? Can someone help meunderstand this better?
Thanks.

Typically you use the firm/non-firm option if for instance you have an
order that has 2 line items - the customer is positive that they are
going forward with the 1st unit, if the second unit is contingent upon
the successful test of the 1st unit you will make the 2nd line item
unfirm until positive verification of the first unit. Another scenario
could be that the customer puts in an order for 500 widgets - however
they want the widgets in two releases (this could be different ship
dates or some factor that differentiates the first and second release)
you can make the 2nd release unfirm,
Hope this helps.

For example, you have a long term contract and your customer provides
you with Sales Order Release projection for the next 12 months. Most
LTAs have a shorter time window (ie 6 weeks) for when a SOR becomes
firm. Consequently, all projection outside the 6 weeks window
are "unfirm." Hope this helps - Monte Tomerlin

I am currently using Vantage 8.03.406A and my question is with the
Sales Order. I have a sales order that I need to change the Sold To
from current customer to a different customer. This order's job has
been just completed and nothing has been shipped. But where the Sold To
is grayed out and not allowing me to change the sold to customer. This
order was changed once before back in August 08 but like I said nothing
has been shipped. How do I go about changing the sold to?

Assuming the job is make direct (non-stock & job linked to order/line/release), you could TRY breaking the link and seeing if you can then change the ship to. (Just remember to recreate the job make to order link!)

Once you do an invoice to the sales order, you can no longer change
the sold to. If it were us, we would put the finished parts in to
inventory, cancel the old sales order, and then create a new sales
order to sell the parts directly from inventory.

What is strange is there has been no invoicing done to this order. We
are able to change the ship to but not the sold to. What we will do
then is create a new sales order and link the job to it and unlink
the job from the old order and delete that old order.

Try deleting the line. Then change the bill to and reenter the line.
There is no packing slip header for this order correct?

Hi Everybody,
I need to add net vol field from part table in sales acknowledgement report.I added part table in report definition and linked it to orderrel(i,e keyfield is partnum). But the part table does not have any data in it.Is linking part table to orderrel incorrect? What should be the correct link then?
Thanks.

Anitha,
You should link the part table to the OrderDtl table.

I would think OrderDtl may link more directly to Part.PartNum

Which version of Epicor are you using? There are some versions that
have a bug that affect linking tables in the Report Data Definition
(RDD). The result of this bug is that no data is produced in the linked
table. Version 9.05.601 fixed the issue. Reference: SCR 76464
Application User tables added to duplicated Report Data Definition are
not pulled for Crystal/EDI/SSRS Reports
Another item to check: is the table correctly linked within Crystal
Reports (CR)? In CR choose Database - Database Expert -Link tab. There
are three possibilities:
1) Table is unlinked. Typically this occurs when there is no field in
either the parent or child table to link to. Fix this by adding the
missing field for the affected table in the Excluded Fields section of
the RDD. You may need to relink the tables within CR after you have
made the changes in the RDD.
2) Table links in CR are different than the RDD. I don't know when or
why this occurs, but CR sometimes links to another table or introduces
extra links. Click on the link lines to view the links. Delete the
undesired links and create new links.
3) Mismatch in data between the links. By mismatch, I mean that the
linked field will have data in one table and is missing that value or
has no data at all in the other table. If your report suddenly goes
blank when you add a new field, this is probably the reason. Click a
link and compare the highlighted field values in each table by right
clicking the field and choosing Browse Field. Once the mismatched link
is found, delete it or change the link type to Outer Join. Do this by
right clicking on the link and choosing Link Option. Select Outer Join.
Hope this helps.

Hi Curtis,
Thanks for replying. We are using Epicor 9.05.For the moment I used ODBC connection(crystal report).I know it's not an elegant way of doing this kind of stuff, but report def of Epicor doesn't seemed to link tables.
