Sales Order Need By Date

Rob, you are correct and I agree with your explanation.

I am really looking to see if this date populates on any reports or dashboards. Currently, everything I have found references the 'Ship By' and I just wanted to make sure I haven't missed something.

What impact does the Sales Order 'Need By' date have in the system? Other than Sales Order Entry, where is it visible?

Sales Order 'Ship By' date flows to... Sales Order Backlog Due Date; Job Required By Date; Scheduled Shipments Report Due Date.

I believe Its the dock date for your customer, its effect is how the ship date is derived by calculation based on other parameters you may or may not have set in other areas etc..by default ship date would be the same as need by date without any other settings.
