Sales Orders Open

Actually in 4.4 there was a way to close Sales Orders so long as all
items were shipped. Have you gone final on your conversion?

If you are thinking that in V8.xx that the job is responsible for
closing the Sales Order, you are mistaken. A Sales Order will close when
all items on the sales order have been shipped. Your sales orders and
jobs may be linked, but the job has no other responsibility to the sales
order than that.

If you have gone final, you will need some kind of utility to go through
all of your sales orders and close any sales orders that can be closed.
You will need to review the remainder to determine the unshipped items
and make as decision whether to close them or not.

As to Epicor's expectations, they expected you to close the orders
before conversion. This is part of their conversion documentation.

Subject: [Vantage] Sales Orders Open

After our conversation, we have all of our old sales orders open, but
they should be closed. In 4.4 we didn't have a way to close Sales
Orders, but using the logic of the Job being closed, the system
should've closed the Sales Orders in 8.0, but now have have
several thousand Sales Orders that should be closed, but aren't.

Does Epicor expect you to manually close your Sales Orders after a
conversation, even if you have several thousand Sales Orders?

Thanks,
