There is at least one thread with some ideas for a script that looked interesting but I haven't had time to test it yet.
A search should locate it but if I can find it I'll add the URL later too.
In my case for the time being - at least once a month I run general maintenance after hours. That is when I run conversions.
If you have remote access it's not too painful.
