Some things that might help:
1. Make sure you have your DNS server IP address in the preferred
DNS
server field. Whether you use DNS or not.
2. Go into the workstation's local security policy (assuming XP)
a. Disable all the "digitally encrypt" functions.
b. Make sure that TASK SCHEDULER is turned off in services.
c. Make sure that in your workstations network settings under
"properties", "configure", "power management" that the check box
"ALLOW
COMPUTER TO TURN OFF THIS DEVICE TO SAVE POWER" is un checked.
d. Take a look at your Server's SERVICES do you REALLY need that
service or is it just a Microsoft default.

Subject: [Vantage] Scheduling Jobs

While discussing the freezing up issue, it reminded of a question I
meant to ask for a while now.

Ever since we upgraded, certain entry screens are a lot slower.

For instance, the time it takes to being up the scheduling box for jobs
is ridiculous. It probably takes around 3-5 seconds. When I am having to
create 20-30 jobs for orders in the morning, this really adds some time.

I also seem to have this problem in order entry. Very rarely anymore can
I click on Add Line and just have the screen pop up. Now there is
anywhere from a 2-5 second delay. Again, when entering a lot of orders
with multiple line items, it ends up taking some extra time.

Rebooting my machine and/or the server does not seem to really help the
problem. We have a brand new server (3 months old) which is lightening
fast compared to our old dog. Never had this problem until we
upgraded...any ideas?
