I am attempting to set up a schedule where we have tiered operator skill levels.
Lets say we have 6 employees in a department.
Employee A and B are priority 1 - super stars for this specific op should always be first choice.
Employee C and D are priority 2 - Work within the area no problem running operation and can meet prod/std
Employee E and F are priority 3 - trained to run but should be last resort.
Setting this up in the relevant capability is no problem. My issue is how when operator A comes in for example how will he know which jobs/ops he is scheduled for each day? In many cases these operators will be part of the same RG, so work queue will not really work as it is looking at work by resource group. Resource scheduling board will probably due this, but floor operators will not have access to this.
Has anyone set up scheduling wherein specific operators are explicitly scheduled to specific jobs/ops by priority level? How do operators know what they are scheduled for each day? Is this approach too granular, and asking for trouble? Previously set up scheduling which works well with a generic pool of people resources with no priority levels.
Thanks,
