Scheduling work center start date is the same day material arriv

We are in 8.03.409c and use recieve times at either the Partplant or Partclass level(partplant overrides the class entry) to back the due date of the material from its internal operation.

Hi
We are 6.1 the problem we have is the start date on the operation that consumes the material is the same day the material is required in, the result is we have jobs starting late and late customer deliveries. Am I missing something?

Thanks, Jeff
You might want to add a queue time to the start of the relevant
Workcentre. However, this adds time to every operation across the whole
schedule for that workcentre so tread carefully.

Hi
We are 6.1 the problem we have is the start date on the operation that
consumes the material is the same day the material is required in, the
result is we have jobs starting late and late customer deliveries. Am I
missing something?

Thanks, Jeff

Fyi..if the operation is the first operation in an assembly the system
will not schedule or honor queue time defined at the resource or
resource group level..

Hi
We are 6.1 the problem we have is the start date on the operation that
consumes the material is the same day the material is required in, the
result is we have jobs starting late and late customer deliveries. Am I

I am not familiar with 6.1 we started on 8.03 and currently are on 9.05. We have a field called Receive Time that can be set on the Part or Part Class. We are setting all parts to 1 so they will be due to arrive from the Supplier or received into inventory the day before the material is needed.
