Scrap product and how to handle it?

Hello,

Problem with scrap product handling. Namely, for example, we have one welding product that is already in stock. A few weeks later, during assembly, it turns out that the product does not match the measurements. The product is repairable.

What would the further process look like?

If I send a quality control (inspection) of a product from the warehouse, after the night MRP, I immediately get new production proposals for the parts of the scrap product, but I don’t want that because I don’t need all new parts for repair, but only one, for example. However, since all new production proposals are created during the scrap assembly and we have a large company and a lot of production proposals on a daily basis, these scrap-related product details get lost in the mass and we can accidentally produce details that we really don’t want.

Or should the repair of the scrap, which is already in stock, be handled in a different way?

I’m a little confused, is the product scrap or repairable?

If the product you are referring to just needs repaired (cut to the right length), then the trick here is to quickly report the part as nonconformance and Fail it to DMR and at DMR Accept it to a Job to make the same part as Material with an op to cut the part to the proper length.
That Job can also then be linked to the original job for it’s supply instead of stock, then MRP shouldn’t give suggestions.

… if I am understanding your situation properly.

It is a repairable product.
