Script to install Client updates

The easiest way would be to install VNC or some sort of Remote access on all
of the machines. Once it's installed, you can do everything, including
reboot. It's also nice for troubleshooting. If someone is having a
problem, you can open their computer in "view only" mode and see exactly
what they are looking at. It's a lot easier to guide them through a
procedure when you see what they're really doing.

Subject: [Vantage] Script to install Client updates

We have an NT network, and 50 clients spread over about 10 acres of
mfg plant. I'm trying to work out a way to avoid an all day 10 mile
hike every time we get a Client upgrade.

Has anyone come up with a workable solution to rollout a client
update using logon scripts (or any other type of scripts). Example
script or bat would be greatly appreciated.

You could use Winbatch. Its a great scripting program. Very easy to run.
We have our login.bat file pointed to a Wil executable that does whatever we
want at login. They have the best help files and support web site I have
ever seems. Well worth the small amount of money they charge for the
compiler. During our conversion from an AS400 to Vantage I used it to
import data into vantage with great success. I still use it if I have a
massive amount of changes to be made in Vantage.
