Searching Multiple Words in a filtered dashboard box

All,

We haven't found a solution to this yet and maybe somebody has a tip for us....

We currently have thousands of similar parts (we do use a complex smart numbering system, it's long) and each has a very detailed description. Our salespeople would find it easier to be able to search multiple words from the description for most of our parts. We were able to do this in our old system.

I did find that you could put the percentage sign (%) directly after a word in a filtered search box and you can search for a 2nd word, or even third word, but/they it has to come directly after the first search word, etc... so it's helpful, but not really.

We are adding more custom columns to the Quote for the Parts Order so that we can whitle this somewhat easier (like color), but it would much easier if we could search multiple words in the description.

Any ideas? I am making this an IDEA, but maybe I'm just missing something.

   TIA

Hi Joseph,

How about you put in the description field match multiple times, say for however many different words you want to allow to add to match? I noticed ours also does not allow out of order match but if I do it with two fields both getting matched, voila, it returns regardless or order of search terms.

Thank you, we did think about adding multiple search fields (we are in Kinetic), but what we really would is to have this ability in the GRID view. In Kinetic, it is very easy to add or search for parts from the various grids where the salespeople would add part to an order or quote. We may do do a BAQ as a workaround with a second, duplicate, type field - that would be a help.

Thanks for the screenshots and taking the time to answer, it is very appreciated.
