Does anyone know how to send a parameter from vantage to crystal?
I have added a custom PO Report to the right-click context menu for the PO Number. I would like to send the PO number to the crystal report so the user does not have to re-key the PO Number.
I don't believe this is possible without the SDK.

Does anyone know how to send a parameter from vantage to crystal?
I have added a custom PO Report to the right-click context menu for the
PO Number. I would like to send the PO number to the crystal report so
the user does not have to re-key the PO Number.

I have done it using a combination of Visual Studio with the ReportViewer control & Vantage customization. The only thing is you have to deploy the executable to each workstation that will use it as an application.

Can you use the clipboard.
Copy PO #, run the report, and Paste the PO # into the report parameter?

If you used a button instead of a right-click you could write the po value
to a table and then pick it up again with the custom report.

I uploaded directions on a way to do this awhile ago. basically you use the session id to write the information to an xml file this ensure no file name conflicts, then the report screen gets a small customization to read the file and populate the parameter. user doesn't have to do anything.

Code was done for C# but can be easily converted to VB if using 8.

File is under Epicor 9 Crystal Reports: Steps to pass parameters to a custom BAQ Report.
