Well, in terms of moving a DB, I would never just copy and paste the files
to move them. I would always reccomend doing a backup and restore instead.
That way the .b1 and other files move along with it.
Appserver logs are just a matter of either doing a change in the 2 spots
within the Appserver Properties, or you can also shutdown Progress
completely and do a find + Replace in the ubroker.properties file within the
oe101b\properties folder, a lot less clicks that way.
A similar find + Replace could be done in the Conmgr.properties file as well
when moving the DB as well, instead of clicking on each DB properties.
Alwaysmake a backup of those prior to making any changes that way if you
choose to, they can be tricky.
That .pf file should be the only other change you need to make.
You always need to be careful with any changes in OpenEdge because it is
very Case Sensative and sometimes even an extra space somewhere can cause a
problem.
This is the much simpler seperation of the possibilities, since it is
technically possible to split up the b1, a1, lg, db, and d1 files onto
seperate volumes(and even multiple files) as well, but that takes a lot more
work and can be fairly tricky at times, with rarely not much actual
performance gain other than personal piece of mind.
