If your materials are purchased direct (or fab materials coming from linked jobs), Parttran shows the source.
Same should be true if your component materials are themselves lot controlled. (No idea what to do if your component materials are serial number controlled.)
If the materials simply are stock, non-lot, the best you can do is ID the source whse bin & dates in the parttran record. I suppose you could then do some kind of backward FIFO assumption based calc through all parttran records for each material & attempt to guesstimate the job or PO receipt source.

Subject: [Vantage] Serialized Parts
We are trying to find out what material went into a specific serialized part. We have custom reports that get us close. Where the problem is that if there is more than one lot number of an item that was used it will not tell us specifically which lot is where. What would be the best way to find in Vantage 8.03.407c the material that went into a certain serial number?
Thanks,
Greg
