Correct..but..you got me thinkin in that direction thanks! So, I changed the path, resubmitted it, smashed the original, and restarted my app server.

That took me a while to get straight in my head. If you look at a task under General Operations, you aren't really looking at the task as it may be set up in the system agent, you are just looking at the last settings used or default settings, but not the settings of the scheduled task. As you found out, you have to "crack open" the task under the system agent to see the settings for the scheduled task, and while you can't change the settings of a scheduled task, you can change the settings and save it as a new scheduled task and then delete the original task.

AHA!!
Thank you all! I do remember that when we back up, we blow away the
task agent and recreate it for reasons along these lines...but. .when you
look at the tasks etc it shows the proper path...until I cracked open
view task parameters under actions in the system agent maintenance. .and
there it was...

To further complicate things.....
if you restored a backup onto a test server - the log settings were
stored in the db and when you started up the test machine it happily
read the stored info and went on it's way
somehow you need to stop the processes, delete them from the startup
schedule and re create on the proper drive/path
