Server Manager Error

I’m trying to add an Application server to the Server Management. When I click ‘Add Application Server’ I get the error below.

Has anyone received this error before? If you have what causes it and how did you fix it?

Thank you!

Stupid question, are you running the admin console from the server?
If so you change your Server to localhost instead of 504XXXXXX and give it a shot

The action runs a bunch of configurations on the server (IIS config, file permissions, etc - All the ‘SetupEnvironment’ tasks).
Basically trying to install that version of E10 on the box for the first time. For that you need to be on the server directly.

If you ARE on that box and get the error then we have a bug I’d love you to report.

Understand this is a testing environment server. I’m setting this up for 10.1.400.xx. I will can blow this away at anytime.

To answer each question:

  1. Jose- Yes, I’m running Admin Console on the Application Server where 10 is loaded. This server is localhost, but I will double check and reply, we all make silly setup mistakes.

2a. This is the first time I’ve ever gotten this error in, probably, 15 installs of Epicor 10. I was hoping this would be a great topic to load into our database of possible problems and have a solution for all of our awesome users!! LOL.
2b. Bart- Welcome to the group by the way! Yes, I’m on the server directly.

The problem was I entered the wrong Server name. But the error is out there in case someone else has a brain fart, like I just did. Hahaha.

Problem solved and marked.

15 installs?

You might enjoy the new command line admin tooling in 10.1.500

Powerscript?

(Unofficially, of course)

Which would you prefer? Just power shell? Command prompt?
We had internal debate over the knowledge overhead of power shell.

Could you do it in PowerShell and then wrap that with a .cmd file (for common tasks) to have the best of both worlds?
