Do you have the field service module? Because it will handle all of
this through that module without even going through all of this.
Of course you have the right idea of using miscellaneous charges for the
labor, then maybe a job to relieve material.
We use a product group called SERVICES and have all the charges hit
that. We don't worry about the classes.

Subject: [Vantage] Service Call Charges
Just wondering how others are handling service call charges. Right now
they want to set up a part for each type of different charge & then
creat a line for each item on the PO. here is an example
Service Call - Travel Cost
Service Call - Travel Labor
Service Call - Trip Charge
Service Call - Labor
Service Call - Premium Labor
Service Call - Parts Used (Keeping in mind also that we may choose to
use actual specific parts
Then they want to set up a part class for each component of a machine, &
then create classes such as Service Call air conditioner, service call
cafeteria, service call scale, service call cuttoff, etc. They also want
to create the above parts for R&M. Seems a bit excess to me. My thought
was just create a misc charge for the items above, give them an account
& call it a day. I am not 100% sure what the tought process is, but this
seems like it is just going to complicate things. Really does anybody
want to do all this for a call for someone to fix the AC.
