Service Connect Backup/Restore from Pilot to Live

I agree.. that's exactly what I do as well. The only thing I ever have
to do deploying from test to live is import NEW services if needed.
Otherwise its load and go.

Sounds like maybe the name of the service references didn't match. If
you called it "CustomerServicePilot", but in the live environment you
called it "CustomerService", it will cause issues because the workflows
are programmed for that named instance.

My practice here is to name each of my services exactly the same in both
environments. So when I move workflows from lab to live, I don't have to
go into the workflows, and re-setup all of my web service references or
import the references.

I need some quick assistance on a service connect issue. I have a workflow that is using pilot service references that works great, but when I move it into production by backing it up and restoring it (and change the service references to the LIVE instances) I get the following error on the first web method call:

Error in the application.

Client Proxy error occurred when calling CustomerService.GetByCustID

Exception of type System.InvalidOperationException: There is an error in XML document (1, 2).

Exception of type System.InvalidOperationException: <GetByCustIDRequest xmlns='http://Epicor.com/CustomerServicePILOT/GetByCustIDRequest'> was not expected.

Failed to load incoming xml into the request object

I don't understand why the namespace is still 'http://Epicor.com/CustomerServicePILOT/GetByCustIDRequest' when the outbound schema in conversion prior to the web method call is CustomeService.GetByCustIDRequest and the web method throwing the error is CustomerService.GetByCustID

This is high priority, so If you could provide any assistance it would be greatly appreciated.
You did do the WS.config, and reinstall all services? Correct port listed there? Stopped/Started IIS and/or Service Connect services?

else..simply right click on the service in your admin console and
re-import it.. that should clear it up..

For what it's worth, when I experience problems like this, I usually do the
following:

1. Copy the WebServices folder from your LIVE Epicor System to your
Service Connect server.

2. Reinstall the web services using the executable in the folder from
#1.

3. Open up the SC admin console, reimport the web references.

It may be overkill, but the 15 minutes it takes me to do the above usually
fixes 90% of the problems.

Thank you all for the quick responses and suggestions.

What ended up resolving this issue was restoring the service references in addition to just the workflows. I have no idea why this resolved the issue (the service references restored were for Pilot and the new restored workflows now reference the Live service references).

I'll follow your suggestions if I have any trouble in the future.
