Service Connect not registered error

This is a DNS change. If you're in an Active Directory environment
then you're running DNS internally already so just create a CNAME record
in DNS that points to your Service Connect server.

Alternatively you can add an entry to
c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts to do it.

Yes this is the first time.

Where is this setting kept so I can change scshost to the actual name
of the server?

All,

When I open SC admin console and expand Connectivity I get an error message
that states "http://scshost is not registered. Service Connect will not
function Properly."

What is causing this issue and how do I resolve it?

Is the the first time you are trying to use the admin console?

Do you have 'scshost' set up as host in your DNS Server? If not add
an entry to your 'hosts' file
