Service Connect - return only one response from subworkflow base

Excellent! Glad to hear you worked it out.. if your able to better
target your dataset and not have to worry about filtering it later
you're always better off..

Hi Rob,

Thanks for trying to help with this issue. I went a slightly different
way...I used a web service with whereclause(s) and I think I will get my
results as needed. My condition is in the where clause now.

Thanks,
Karen

Hi,

I have a subworkflow with a choice to check two fields. I send the result to a poster if true and to finish if false, so I can verify the choice is working. However, the false response is merged with the higher workflow, but I only want the true response to merge.

Any ideas?
Thank you,
Karen
I suppose you're one of those who like to have their cake and eat it too
right? The higher document interfaces with the finish, and since that
is the only data you are presenting it...you could have another
connector taking your true to the finish element as well as the poster.
What if anything will you be doing with your false results from the sub?

Hi Rob,

I am not doing anything with the false. My true does go to poster then
finish. I think maybe it is executing only once at the higher level or
only bringing back the first results at the higher level...My input data
is one header, one detail, one sub...But is pulling in get by id, one
header, one or more details, one or more subs...I want to match header,
detail and choose sub based on value in two fields = true.

Thanks,

Karen

Ok, so they are both going to finish, then its probably a race. Because
I think you're right, (from my experience) it will only roll up one path
or the other. Perhaps you can dead end that false using a condition.

Rob,

I think you are right...I want to take the dataset, return header,
detail and one sub (dead ending the rest) somehow with a condition. I
have tried what I think is needed for conditions, but no luck, still
always returns the first sub.

Can you give some pointers on conditions?

Thanks,

Karen
