Service Connect send attachments?

No, I can't think of any way to pull an attachment into service connect
or generate a pdf.

Also, another problem you will have is the email poster gets the to:
email address hard coded into the template. As far as I've seen you
can't set it based on your data.

Service Connect really doesn't seem to be the right tool for this.
Using a BPM as someone else suggested would make a lot more sense.

We just bought Service Connect to do a bunch of automated processes in our financial area, but I've had some ideas about automating PO confirmations by sending them to suppliers.

Is there any way for Service Connect to do either of the following?

1) Create a document, such as a PDF by executing a print from a form (i.e. Purchase Order Entry)?

2) Send an email and pull in an attachment to that email? I can see in the workflow that I can create an email with a template, but I see no way to specify an attachment or anything.
I know you can send xml output (or I expect other formatted output if
your conversion has other formats)...

You can also create a simple or complex link - some info shown in the
help for Service Connect

Hi

We use Altec Print Management (supplied by Epicor) to do something very similar to this.

Hi,

I did look into this but never had enough time to do it completely, it will require some coding. I think, again in theory, you could do it through BPM using a .net action. There is simple code to generate a crystal report and export as a pdf. The theory goes;

1) BPM on approval
2) BPM Action to generate the xml file
3) BPM .net code to look up the xml filename from the task agent
4) BPM .net code to generate PDF
5) BPM .net code to send PDF to supplier contact.

Again, very theory based...

Someone beat me to it but Advanced Print Management can send PDFs like you describe.

Yeah, we looked at APM and we don't want/need all the functionality that it offers. I'm hoping that SC can provide some of that automation functionality in the future - as far as creating attachments or sending them.
