ServiceBus Replication blocking Updateable/AllCompanies BAQ

,

Hello! We just upgraded to 10.1.600.3 and are encountering a new problem. We have numerous updateable BAQs that are needed in each company. When we try to save one of these BAQs we get the following message:

‘ActiveProjectResp’ query in ‘FUS’ company can’t have both Updatable and All Companies flags set because ServiceBus replication is configured.

What is the servicebus? Never heard of it.

Microsoft Service Bus is the queuing engine used for Multi Company to send changes back and forth between different data centers. (Not used in MC direct / same db).

@Adam_Denton
Not sure why you have Service Bus configured you are Multi-Company-Direct. (Same DB). That’s odd, did you guys split your other company instance into its own DB server?

Could be a bad configuration of MultiCompany.

It is weird. There were some references to “ServiceBus” in the External System Maintenance area (no idea how they go there). I deleted them but still get the same error when saving BAQs.

We have no need for servicebus as we have a single DB Server in play.

I’d have to recommend opening a ticket with support. Something got messed up and they will have to work through it with you

Yeah - we opened one earlier today. They can replicate it and we’re waiting to hear from Development. I’ll post what they come back with.

It is a known issue that will be fixed in a future update. :rage:

Overnight I got a reply from Development, it was reported under SCR 199852 - BAQ Designer - Unable to import All Companies updatable query if ServiceBus replication configured on system

It has been fixed in 10.2.100 (no release date yet). I will be entering a new Update Request for you for 10.1.600.x right now.

It was fixed in 600 before release. I need to check our reporting process so as to not scare customers…

When that bug was found it was fixed in ‘Current ICE development’ (3.2/10.2) . But was reproduced in 600 so was patched into the code branch that being worked on in the ‘Current ERP development’ due to customer impact. Not sure how all the new reporting got confused but will ask the relevant folks.

Thanks for the patience and insight…

Bart - I’m not quite following? The bug does exist in my version at least. You are saying there is an available fix? Or not until 600.x or 10.2?

It’s one heck of a painful bug. We didn’t notice it during our testing - likely because we mostly tested in the main company (Learned that lesson). Now I have dozens of BAQ Directives, BPMs, and dashboards to move over to these other companies to get them working.

Wait, you are seeing it in 600.3??
That is surprising as it was reported as fixed in 600.0…

Absolutely. The whole “All Companies” process is really jacked up. BAQs are actually disappearing at random. Thinking that when it tries to sync stuff across the companies it is crapping out somewhere. I have 4 people heads down trying to recreate dashboards (updateable and normal) in our non-primary companies. We’ll fix them, then they break again. Support, as usual, isn’t much help. I’m hoping to get the situation stabilized soon, although I expect to end up with unique dashboards in each company…

What’s your case #?

Our case # is CS0000442802.

Please reach back out to your support contact tomorrow. They have been debriefed.

Thanks Bart. They are working on a ‘rush fix’.

sigh dang simpsons.

I was always more connected to Black Bart growing up (Black Bart (outlaw) - Wikipedia).
Especially since my first name is actually Charles but I have always gone by Bart (middle name) due to my mother hating my grandfather of whom I was named after (Charles)

And before I knew it … I’d read an entire Wikipedia article on a stagecoach robber and poet…
