Is there a way to set a “default” Homepage Layout for different User Group(s)?
Not under User/Security Group from what I can see…but is available under User Account Security Maintenance…there’s a “Default Published Home Page Layout” field.

Can you use that field the same way? If I develop a bunch of layouts for the company, can I distribute them somehow? In my experience I can only deploy the layouts that the user has develop themselves (or downloaded from an email). I would love to develop a handful of actually useful layouts and then assign them based on department or some other criteria.
How do we add layouts to this list?
I didn’t build ours so not familiar how/where it was done…but we have customized ones by department: distribution, accounting, cust svc…I’ll nose around to see if I can find where
It looks like as long as I am able to publish home page layouts, then I can create the layout, publish it, and then i should be able to select it for various users. Trying this out now! This isn’t the ideal option of setting the layout based on department, or user group, but being able to set them by user will still be helpful.
EDIT: That worked great! Not sure how it looks to my users yet, but this is cool!

As far as I can tell you can’t force the users into a new layout without having them choose a new one. But you can at least make the layouts published in the list. If there is any way to force a user to a specific layout, that might be helpful too.
