I have a new customization of the Issue Material screen in Material Management\Inventory Management\General Operations. I have a value prior to loading the screen and would like to have Mtl… display it once form is loaded. I have the following. strMaterial is the value I prefer to pass in, select from combobox and display this value. Do you guys know what I need to do to make this work?
You would be best served by updating the dataView and not the control.
In this case, if you want to default a value, it may be better to look at a BPM. You can set the Material Seq when the job is entered.
Job is imported and populated automatically through another customization. We were wanting to auto select the Mtl… as well so the user doesn’t have to.
Should still do it view a dataview. With a check to make sure that MtlSeq exists for Job and AsySeq.
Is the goal to have a customization on another form launch the Issue Material form, and pre-populate the JobNum, AsySeq and MtlSeq? With those values (JobNum, AsySeq, and MtlSeq) coming from the first form?
Yes Calvin. That is the goal. It is proving to be a difficult thing to do. Granted I have less than a year exposure to Epicor and customizations but this seems like it shouldn’t be that hard and be straightforward. Its being anything but that.
When autoselecting a value for MtlSeq do I still need to use a dataview? My users are insistent that I preselect the MtlSeq that I should get from the WhereUsedData property of the PartAdapter. In my Windows apps it usually just takes setting the Selected property but that doesn’t work here. If it can’t be done in a customization, please let me know so I will have backup when I tell my requesting parties.
