Ship From Job

When you have a job where the products ships, does that hit any warehouse after the job is done? I’m guessing no, as it is supposed to ship. Correct?

If that is the case, I have a part that is only Made to Ship, and Part Tran shows qty against it in specific warehouse. Reference is Backflush.

Is the transaction type MFG-CUS or STK-CUS in Part Tran? Also, is Auto-Receive checked on the operation?

it is STK-MTL

That means it was shipped from inventory, not from the job. Might be helpful to look at the pack in Customer Shipment Entry and see if it shows shipped from inventory.

Even though a part is marked non-stock (i.e. made to ship), Epicor will let you ship from inventory. An example of where you would want this is you make more of the part than the original order requires (e.g. min mfg lot size or just ran more), you can put the extras in inventory and sell them later, shipping from inventory.

A STK-MTL transaction is either issuing from inventory to a job, or returning material from a job to inventory. It’s not a ‘shipment’ transaction.

Yes, my mistake. Read the STK part and not the MTL part… Good catch!

This would be issuing that part to a job. Returning material from a job would be MTL-STK.

@Will79 - is this part used to build other parts?

Actually, the tran type is still STK-MTL, but the transaction quantity is negative.

Yes it is.

@Will79 - take a look at the methods for those parts where this part is a subcomponent and see if the operation is marked as backflush. There is a hierarchy of where Epicor gets the backflush warehouse and bin.
