Shipping a partial on a line item

Split off the open partial balance due to a new release on the same line. If it is a make direct item, also split your linked job and relink its open balance split job to the new release.

If you are measuring your on time by your original confirmed date to the customer, make sure that new sale order/line/release carries the orignal promised date.

Yes, I did see that but I dont want to "complete" the line when
there is still a quantity balance due to the customer. Can shipping
enter a line (example: Sales Order# 280100-1-2) for the partial?
Or does the dept that normally enters in line items have to do that?

If your shipping a qty of (4) out of a Product & Order qty of (10) is
there a way to get a "Bill of Lading" on the qty on the (4) and be
able to "Complete" the qty of (4) or do you have to wait until the
full Product & Order qty is shipped to be able to "Complete" the line?

Thanks.
There is a check box labeled "Complete" that you can check during the
Shipment Entry that will complete the line.
