Shipping/Closing

Chris,

We use Global Alerts (Production Management / Job Management / Master File
Maintenance / Global Alerts) to get this functionality. Open the Global
Alerts list and activate the "Operation has been completed" alert. Edit the
alert text if you like and set a list of people to whom an e-mail should be
sent.

Next, go into the operation for which you'd like to receive an alert and
check the "Alert on completion" box. When that operation is completed,
everyone on the e-mail list for that alert gets an e-mail message saying as
much.

One caveat: Everyone on the recipient list for that warning will get every
warning of that type. By this I mean that you can't have five operations
checked to send an alert, but only have three of them send an alert to you
specifically. You will get all five alerts whether you want them or not.

Hello All

We're currently running V4.00.904

I need to ensure that all jobs are marked complete (and then ultimately
closed (I have a complete/not closed report for this)).

If a job is shipped - no problem.

Some jobs (for obscure reasons) are not shipped but should have a Final
Inspect op completed. Ideally, I would like the previous event to trigger
an intranet e-mail so that a list of Jobs to complete and later, close is
compiled

If this isn't feasible then I need a Report to advise that any jobs that
have had the FI op marked (by date or date range?) are identified for
completing.

Any thoughts?

Try a report to check if all jobs have the last operation marked as final.
(JobAsmbl.FinalOpr) = 0

Then create a second report linking JobAsmbl to JobOper filter for operation
not complete, and if you are on version 5.0 use the new field
JobOper.LastLaborDate, keeps you from reading a bunch of labor tickets.
