Shipping label

Currently shipping needs to enter 1pc in finished goods to print shipping labels. Is there any way to be able to print shipping labels without entering 1 pc. Sometimes they forget to remove the 1 pc once all parts are packed and entered in the system. It wasn’t that big of a deal when parts were cheaper, but now 1 part could be thousands of dollars.

please advise,
thanks

You could do a misc. shipment. That doesn’t require a QTY but won’t act like a customer shipment.

is there any other way, we are using customer shipment entry for the labels

What are you shipping if you’re not actually shipping the product?

It might be a hot shipment that we are trying to ship that day and maybe someone is still working on them so they will print the shipping labels and grab boxes as they are ready. Also, for large shipments, so they can pack them prior to the ship date because there are hundreds of boxes in the shipment.

You may not be going about solving this problem in the right way.

I’m not sure this is an Epicor issue that can be solved. Customer shipments aren’t meant for proactively creating labels. You could in Misc. Shipment Entry since it’s not tied to stock. You could related the misc. ships to the order for visibility and tracking.

Are you using Bartender?

If so, and you’re using the file drop method, you could create a drop-file in notepad, fill in the label information, and drop the file into the Bartender input folder.

no, we are not using it.

They may not look exactly the same as your SSRS labels, but you might be able to use Word’s mail merge/label printing capability.

Are you trying to print the actual carrier shipping label? Like from Quick Ship? Or just a container label?
