Shop Load Capacity

I have resources associated with each resource group. However, some of my resources are essentially the same, like 3 machines that are all the same kind or 5 hand drills. Can't I say I have a resource with 3 machines? Do I have to define three separate resources like machine 1, machine2, etc.?

I'm familiar with Vantage 6.x but it's been a year or two. Now setting up things in 9.05.607. Pretty much got the Operations, Departments, Resource Groups, Resources, and Shop Calendars set up correctly I think but I'm now a little stumped.

I see on the shop load report that Resource Group basically replaced Work Center from Vantage. I think I could define machines in Vantage or just specify that a certain work center contained x number of machines. Therefore a workcenter with 3 machines and a 7.5 hour shift would show a capacity of 22.5 hours per calendar day shift.

In E9 I have resources under resource groups and I run this utility "Generate Shop Capacity Process" but my shop load report does not update the resource group capacities.

A)- What am I missing?
B)- Is there a place to enter the number of resources I have of any one kind like I used to do with machines?
Seems to be correct.

Res Grp contain Resources which are tied to a Calender

# of Res x Hours/day

Are your resources active?

Subject: [Vantage] Shop Load Capacity

Each resource group has to have at least one resource (In V6 it was the
machine). Once you have the resources in the group you should be able to
generate capacity. To modify capacity, modify the calendars associated
with the group or the resource.

Subject: [Vantage] Shop Load Capacity

I'm familiar with Vantage 6.x but it's been a year or two. Now setting
up things in 9.05.607. Pretty much got the Operations, Departments,
Resource Groups, Resources, and Shop Calendars set up correctly I think
but I'm now a little stumped.

I see on the shop load report that Resource Group basically replaced
Work Center from Vantage. I think I could define machines in Vantage or
just specify that a certain work center contained x number of machines.
Therefore a workcenter with 3 machines and a 7.5 hour shift would show a
capacity of 22.5 hours per calendar day shift.

In E9 I have resources under resource groups and I run this utility
"Generate Shop Capacity Process" but my shop load report does not update
the resource group capacities.

A)- What am I missing?
B)- Is there a place to enter the number of resources I have of any one
kind like I used to do with machines?
