Shop Load Report...any customizations or tips out there?!?!

We're in the same boat John - Vantages visual scheduling & load management tools are all glitz and little use.

I uploaded a dashboard & source BAQ a few months ago that does essentially what you are looking for.

I've also got a similar excel based tool that is task scheduled nightly to auto_open and execute a vbscript that pulls in fresh data that is nightly BAQ exported as part of a recurring Task set in Vantage. It has more detial than the simple dashboard. (if the dashboard is lacking, I'd be glad to send you this directly after I review it and verify it has nothing proprietary in it.)

It's in the files section (link at bottom of this this mail home page below) & is called "ResSchedBrdDashboard".

I believe Patty B also uploaded something similar ("Shop Load....") a month or two ago - so between the two you may be able to borrow & tweak to get what you need.

For our operations, the "out-of-the box" Shop Load Report and the
scheduling boards has little to no value b/c we require the ability
to filter unfirmed (MRP) and firmed job orders.

Anytime we wish to see the current week's resource load, we wish to
see released or firmed orders only.

This was a feature that we had with other ERP/MRP packages and was a
very beneficial tool to see the actual load on the floor within a
short-term horizon.

I've spent countless days of trying to create my own with BAQs,
Crystal Reports, modifications of existing BAQs of the scheduling
engine and have yet find a way to filter MRP messages.

Temporarily, I've used the jobop and jobopdtl table to show estimated
and remaining hours per resource group of released jobs. This has
been an "ok" approach but doesn't show the actual hours
per/day/per/ resource of a job that takes multiple days...just the
remaining hours of the job op due date.

Overall I'm stumped and I would love to hear from anyone who has a
solution or recommendation.
