Shop Load Report

Does anyone have a shop load report that shows setup time.
Thanks
Chuck
We are in the process of going for ISO certification and was wondering how
anyone might be using vantage to show approved vendors or generate an
approved vendor list. We are on ver 3.00.632 which doesn't have the approved
vendor function. We are using vendor groups already for accounting purposes.
Does anyone have an idea as to how to flag vendor status besides the groups?
VBforms may be a possibility?(Haven't used any so we are not sure here)Any
help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Jim Frice
Jim,
I would use the VB Form, then write a RB Report to pick up that field.

We no longer allow attachments to files. To access/share Report Files,
please go to the following link: http://www.egroups.com/files/vantage/
(Note: If this link does not work for you the first time you try it, go to
www.egroups.com, login and be sure to save your password, choose My Groups,
choose Vantage, then choose Files. If you save the password, the link above
will work the next time you try it.)
While in 3.0 we set up Approved Vendors by using the VBForms on the Vendor
File.
A RADIO button for Unapproved, approved, probation
A date field for "Revised Date"
A Comment field for comments:"Grandfathered in as of 06/30/98"
A character field for "Delivery Performance Report Mail To Attention:"

Report builder report for vendors approved, unapproved and on probation.
Report builder report for product subcontracted which also shows the vendor
status.
Report builder report for delivery performance setup up like letter head
with the Mail To Attention field.

Hope this helps.

Hello Jim,
We have achieved our QS9000/ISO9002 CERTIFICATION, we set up a VBFORM for
the Vendors. (I'll send a screen print off list if you like) and then
generated some report builder reports to generate some lists. Using the
auto reports program that is available a regular list can be generated
indicating who needs review.

I did the exact same thing as Shirley and would be willing to send you a
bit map of the VP page I added to the vendor file.

I would love to see your image...your screen print that is. I set up
one that works but I'm always interested in improvements.

Question on scheduling

Prior to version 3.0, the Vantage Shop Load report included an option to break
out Setup and Production hours. In version 3.0, this option was removed. This
option was valuable to us since skilled setup labor is often a scheduling
bottleneck. I'm curious if this has been an issue for other Vantage users?

If is has been an issue what tools have you used to replace this once available
feature? Report Builder? Customization?

Any feedback would be much appreciated!

Mike,

We made a customized Shop Load Report which has broken out the set-up
and production hours. In our case we have also instituted cells as work
centers as well so we have included the crew size on the report which
also helps in scheduling labor.

Can anyone tell me if there is a version of autoreports for 5.0. It causes

Has anyone created a shop load report in Report Builder? If so,
would you be willing to share? Thanks in advance.
Yes you can create the shop load report in report builder.
Join JobOpr with jobhead, WrkCenter, part whatever you need.
Sort and Group by JCDEPT, WrkCenter, JobOper.StartDate
Create Columns by making calculated fields for week start and end dates.
Then subtotal load.
For Capacity I use the workcenter hours per machine time 5.

You can also personalize:
add calculated fields to print "Hey you are over your Estimated setup time
by X hours?"

Does anyone have a shop load report like the one in Vantage only showing
setup hours and production hours separately? I looked under files but I
couldn't see one.

Does anybody know what tables the Shop Load report uses? I want to try to recreate that report in report builder. Has anybody done this? Is it possible?

Thanks,
Jasper

Hi,

I did have a crack at this this at one time but failed. It is due to
the way the data is held in arrays within vantage. Epicor uses,
progress programs to extract the data. Notice they only use 10
buckets, due to processing requirement.

I can't remember the exact details but it holds each load per machine
in an array.

I tried to use corvu for this but even this took a long time to
extract and manipulate.

The closest I got this was for them to supply a customisation which
affectively wrote the data to a custom table.

I believe this is issue that epicor needs to address. I can't
remember, but shop vision and a load graph, I did ask whether this
data could be extracted as it would be ideal.

We were particularly looking at unreleased and released loads etc.

From a database point of view it would be interesting in how other
systems hold the data.

Hello All,
Has anyone tried to recreate the shop load report that is found in Vantage?  I am trying to recreate this report either through a BAQ/Dashboard or Crystal. The reason I am trying to recreate this is that the system report gives totals at the "Resource Group level", and I would like to get a total number of hours at the "Resource level." Haven't found a way to get this info yet. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,

You can rewrite this report using crystal by summarising the shopload
table.

Gary -
Thanks for your feedback. I've looked at using the ShopLoad report, but havent been able to get the numbers to match up. There is a discrepancy in the numbers for some reason. Could you be more specific in exactly what needs to be done?

Thanks,
