Sidetrack question but urgent-- email server is bom bed

Thanks, Todd, Shirley, Paul and Rich.

Eventhough we already had SP2 for the Exchange server, obviously we
didn't do the necessary steps to prevent spam mails. We are now
working on it. I really appreciated your help specially today and in
this case because my IT staff is on vacation and I am not an IT
expert.

Thanks again.

I don't have the detailed steps at hand but look up (MS Knowledgebase?) the
steps for turning off SMTP relay. That should stop further attempts because
the sender will start getting notices of receipt/relay failure.

This morning, our email server (Exchange) starts sending out more
than 4,000 mails and because they go nowhere, they are redirected to
admin account. The headers of those mail show that they are
generated as a forward from an email received from "direkciya@e-
mail.com"

Obviously, this is an email attack like what happened last year to
some big guys. Now, there are about 1,000 more queuing in my server,
jamming up emails of outbound traffic.

Any help, idea about how to, or what software we should use. BTW, we
are using Norton Corp Edition v.7.

Thanks in advance.
