Simple Bam Problem

If you're talking about Eric Butler at Epicor, then yes, he is awesome. He helped me a lot with BPMs too and he is very good at what he does.

Hello all,

I am attempting to create a BAM when certain Checkoff fields in DMR header are checked of. Once a checkoff is checked (for example checkoff1) i want to send an e-mail to certain individuals.

Easy enough, I created the bam selecting DMRHEAD and the field checkoff1. Set-up rule saying when checkoff1 = yes. And setup the action to alert sending verbage to recipients.

Needless to say when i checkoff the box. nothing happens. I know global alerts work becuase we are receiving them on a regular basis. Is there something i missed?

Is it something in the customization that is not set-up right. Epibinding field shows dmrhead,checkoff1. Datasource shows DMRhead and datafield is set to checkoff1. Do i have to create something in the wizards?

At a loss.
I am trying to simply bring a ud from ShipHead.Character09

Over to BOLHead.Character09 using BOLSlip
FKV from BOLSlip to ShipHead

And it doesn't work?
And can't figure out What am I missing?

I know this sounds like a broken record response, but you may want to
verify with support that the table and field are compatible with BAM's.
It may be a shock to learn that there are quite a few tables and fields
in Vantage that are not. There is also no comprehensive list of
compatible tables either (I know another blatant shock) that was the
first thing I asked when I ran into a similar situation. I am not
saying that is what your problem is, but it is one realistic
possibility.

Have you tried without the rule in place?

Tried with no rule. It's a no-go. Lol whats annoying is I can do certain things that appear to be more complicated, but when I try what I think is easy it fails. Murphy's Law?

Thanx for the help all

I do know that for all of the 'BAM Alerts' that we set up ,  I've written Progress .p procedures
that check the conditions and send/not send emails (in your case,: If checkoff1 = True then...). We are on an older version and I don't think we have 'rules' available so we have to go this way, works good.

I had the same problem when attempting to set up BAM email alerts on the DMR tables. Other tables worked fine so I know it was all configured correctly. I had to assume those tables did not work and so I used SQL triggers to send my emails instead of using the BAM.

Thanks For all the help. But I have recently was introduced to BPM's. I sound like a newbie but this thing is awesome. Thanx to Eric at epicor for showing me the light. ICON_X
