We are experiencing slowness when printing AR Edit List and Posting the invoices. But, it only happens on some random days, once or twice a week. Usually it takes 3-4 min to print the Edit List and Post the Invoices but when it’s slow it takes ~30 min to print the Edit list and another ~30 min to post it. The number of invoices when it’s slow and when it’s working normally is the same.
We are on 10.2.700.10. The PE log is turned off and the posting rules haven’t been customized. Also, there are no customization or BPMs. Has anyone experienced this behavior or have any ideas what might be causing it?
Are you on cloud? Maybe there were some performance issues at the server level at those times.
Also you can try enabling server tracing/logging, I believe there is a specific flag you can enable to track Posting Engine processes which could give you an idea of what is taking time if you compare a regular run with a slow one.
We are on-prem. We did turn on the PE log to debug but it didn’t tell us the time taken to post the invoices. Is there a way to add that information in the PE log?
Not the PE Log, but the actual server log with additional logging for PE specific methods and processing.
I think it is usually enabled from the Admin Console however I usually do it modifying the AppServer.config file in the server deployment directory, it has some commented trace flags, you need to add one for “trace://erp/pe”.
We are on the cloud and experiencing the exact same issue. I have been tracking it for weeks and cannot find a common thread among the slower batches. I did contact support but they cannot duplicate the issue. And because there are no error messages or “patterns” among the slow batches, there really isn’t anything to go on. Is there anything I can look at that might give me some answers? This has been a major frustration to our finance people. I’m open to any suggestions.
Has this been a problem since some of the new windows 10 updates? We have 2 windows 7 machines here that are not running slower, but the 3 windows 10 machines are running quite a lot slower, taking over double the time to do things. It seems to be tied only with windows 10, at least on our network.
We have the same issue, we are on 10.2.300.9, everything will work fine for a week or so, then an edit list or posting will take up to 7 hours to run or time out. When we have this issue all edit lists and postings for two companies are affected, the third company which has been live for one year has no issues. The only solution I have found is to restart all the servers, recycling to appservers has no effect, a restart of the database sever is the only cure. I have raised with support on numerous occasions but nothing has worked and their latest suggestion to upgrade to the latest version of E10 is not really a solution for us at the moment. When the issue is happening all other reports that don’t use the posting engine run fine. If anyone could tell me what else I could try it would be helpful as I would love to solve this recurring issue. Thank You
We checked our change logs and it looks like the issue is not related to a particular invoice or particular customer. Usually, each invoice takes 1 sec to post but on the days when the delay occurs, each invoice takes about 15 sec to post in average.
